Postdoc in Microeconometrics
Place of work: Brig/Switzerland
Start of work: 01.08.2026 (or by appointment)
This is a unique opportunity to conduct independent research, to work with experienced researchers, and to organizing research seminars and workshops in the field of applied econometrics. We are looking for candidates with a PhD in Econometrics or a related field who are enthusiastic about the possibilities of online education and working in a modern and digital environment. Your tasks
- Conduct independent and collaborative research focused on causal inference, data science, and machine learning
- Develop your academic profile and publication record
- Collaborate with other researchers at UniDistance Suisse and other and international institutions in research projects, publications, and grant applications
- Assist in online teaching or develop your own teaching activities
- Contribute to the organization of research seminars, workshops, and related academic events
Your profile
- PhD in Economics, Econometrics, or a related field (completed or near completion)
- Interest or background in areas such as causal inference, causal machine learning, partial identification, or the use of large administrative data
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with solid training in econometric methods
- Experience with statistical programming languages such as R, Python, or Stata
- Ability to work independently and as part of a research team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
