About the Role

King’s Business School (KBS) invites expressions of interest for the position of Professor of Economics within the Department of Economics. We are looking for an outstanding scholar with an international reputation for research excellence (any field) and a commitment to high quality teaching.

The appointee will be expected to:

  • Produce internationally leading research in their field of economics.
  • Provide mentorship to academic colleagues and early-career researchers.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and curriculum development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Engage with policy, industry, and the wider community to enhance the impact of the department’s work.

Working conditions (salary, teaching load, administrative responsibility) are responsive to market conditions.

About You

You will have:

  • A PhD in Economics or a closely related discipline.
  • An outstanding record of research publications in top-tier journals.
  • A strong track record of research funding and successful supervision of PhD students.
  • Evidence of leadership in teaching and academic administration.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and dynamic academic environment.

About the Department and University

King’s Business School (KBS) and the Department of Economics form a thriving international community for research and teaching. Based in Bush House, a historic building in the heart of London. KBS is the ninth and newest faculty at King’s College London, the School currently has around 200 academic staff and offers a full range of undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programmes.

University-wide, the Economics at King’s initiative fosters a vibrant research community in which the KBS Department of Economics collaborates closely with economists from other departments at the university.
